Nov 4th The long road home!! :-(

We left Mom's in the morning and made our way up 80, arriving home around 3ish.

The girls are in the tent now set up in the living room, waiting for the next roadtrip!

We're back home until next time, this has been the experience of a lifetime and showed us we are full-timers at heart and in training!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing this adventure with us....... j and m

Nov 3rd Avila Beach

Our last sunrise at Avila, no fog on the day we leave.........

We had to get a different space this time, the bluff was already full by 3:00 on Friday so we went to the marina by the boat launch and you sit so close to the water we would have been sprayed if the waves got any bigger than they were, but we liked it out there a lot. There was water on both side of us here.

The schedule for today was the 2nd Annual Olive Picking Party at Mike and Shirley's, just a short drive from where we stayed on the water. They were expecting a few tons of olives to be harvested this time. We had fun and it didn't get hot until we were ready to leave......lucky us!!

A couple of olive pickers..........

Saying good bye to Shirley as we head up the road to Sac to see Mom

Nov 2nd Avila Beach

We left 83 degrees at El Chorro and drove 20 minutes into dense fog and 53 degrees......Brrrrrr

Coops found a way to wait out the fog.....her new favorite location, also known as our shower!

Nov 1st El Chorro Regional Park San Luis Obispo

On our way from Cayucos to Pismo to another RV Park, we stopped to check out a regional park the docent at the Morro Museum told us about. We couldn't believe there was this great spot with full hook ups and not many other people there, and liked it so much we decided to stay. There are hiking trails all over the place, the price was great and we had this little yard area and we were very private. Everything we love, and a firepit!!!!!!!

We were the only RV in the area we selected, it was so nice to have these views out every window!!!

Michael is very cautious with our fires, he hooked up the hose and wet down the surrounding area. Mr. Fire Prevention!!

Another and perhaps our last opportunity for a fire and roasted mallows, we came up with a twist on the roasted mallow by inserting a dark chocolate kiss in the center after roasting......where exactly is the treadmill anyway?????????????? Multitasking, fire and a call to Mom.

Oct 31st Halloween in Cayucos...........

enough said????

Rudi tried to be a witch, but settled for being a hula dancer!!!!!

Ted and Mingo both opted for being witches....So very scary..................

Oct 30th Cayucos

Back to Caucos for the hook ups......didn't get the cool space with the backyard but we're still in the right town. As you can see we may not be in the best space but the location can't be beat.

Before setting up camp in Cayucos again, we hung out on the bluff in Avila and I walked to the pier with Shirley. We never get tired of this location and you can hang out there all day without a fee, to spend the night you must pay by 6PM. What a find!

Oct 29th Morro Bay State Park

We decided to just stay here one night, we need power!!!!! We did get a free pass to the Morro Bay State Park Natural History Museum located a very short walk from camp and enjoyed walking through that. Amazingly enough we saw a stuffed bird like the guy we saw in Moss Landing and learned he is a Common Murre. He does fly apparently but does walk like a penguin and the docent thought both the bird we saw and the one like him that Sandy saw in Santa Cruz that a kid was petting were probably not well. It was quite a surprise to see this guy stuffed! We did a big walk through the bird areas and on into town and it was drizzling and getting cold so we came back to find a camp had set up right next door to us and the way these camps were situated they were literally on top of us. The campground was no where near full so we have no idea why 8 guys with 4 VW vans would decide to set up camp in our faces, but they did......is it time to move on yet?????????????? These pics are before they arrived........

This was a Night Heron sleeping in the alcove right by the museum. The trees were filled with herons, dozens and dozens of them.

Oct 28th Pismo Beach

The ocean was right over this meadow, this is from our site.......great walking trails from this campground. My sister Carol Lee and her husband Dick visited us this morning on their way out of town and dropped off their access passes for the 31st First Annual Jazz Festival going on all over Pismo and later in the day we caught a show at one of the beachfront venues. (note, no pictures of my sister, or the festival what's happening to us???????)

Oct 27th Pismo Beach

Roasting some kind of chemical over the crackling fire at camp, gets no better!!!!!!!!

Oct 26th Pismo Beach

We are at the Pismo State Campground North Beach and got a great site that backs up to the Monarch Butterfly Refuge and is minutes from the ocean. We love these huge open space type campsites, and hardly saw any other people from our door. We walked the beach, sat in the sun reading, and just enjoyed another day in paradise! This space was the best ever for the cats, they loved it here.....birds, butterflies, other cats to watch............

We put Rudi on a leash too for the first time ever and she sampled the outdoors.......

Michael took Coops out on her new leash and she did pretty good this time......Ted, of course, is a roaming fool.

Oct 25th Oceano

We stayed at a county park in Oceano called Coastal Dunes. It was a deceiving name considering when we got all set up at camp we realized we were sitting right on top of train tracks, hidden behind the trees in the picture. When the train came by it felt like we were ON the train! No wonder it was 23$ with full hook ups and had a lot of vacant spaces!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct 23rd and 24th Avila Beach

We stayed at the Avila Beach campsite again. We are basically in this Central Coast area for the rest of the trip. The winds had died down and the sun was out and we were enjoying sunrises, sunsets, and the moon over Avila. Ted got to go down onto the beach and get his feet wet in the waves.

We did a little oil painting one morning of the beautiful scenery we were looking at. The oil painting set was from Wal Mart called "Oil Painting For Dummies" it is perfect for the RV all of it fits into a nice little box with everything we need.

We also had a nice surprise from Lisa who invited us to Shirley's (Lisa's Mom) birthday party. They live very close to where we were staying and so we drove the View up to their place and enjoyed a wonderful evening with them. Great company, great food, it was great!

Oct 22nd Morro Dunes

We are back to Morro Dunes RV Park in Morro Bay. This has always been one of our favorite places to visit. The town is great and this little RV Park is right across the street from Morro Rock, the beach, and just a short walk into town.

I had to twist Julie's arm and put in a somewhat long bike ride, but we got to go town to get a slice of a berry cobbler from this old family restaurant on the wharf called "Tognazzinis Dockside" mmm, it came with a scoop of ice cream!!!! We strapped it into the pouch of the bike and we took the short way back to camp!

The kids loved the site of course because of all the birds, and just hangin with the parents.

Oct 21st Avila Beach

We woke before the sunrise for the first time this trip (I know, can you believe that????) and took coffee out to our chairs and watched the most beautiful sunrise. We are blessed!

Coops gets a gift from Susan of a new leash and she LOVES it, and it's SO fashionable!!!!!

Rudi finds a new spot to hang out.....I was preparing the rig for travel and had put the bed up, she found a way around that problem!

Check in phone call with Mom.........
