We left Herford Ranch and took 44 to Redding and headed out to the lake. The RV camping at Oak Bottom Campground was basically parking in a parking lot, no hookups or anything else. But we were right at the lake so easy access for kayaking which this picture is from. We were one of two boats on the water, and it was glass. The winds picked up right after we came in so for once our timing was good. We met the coolest couple next to us, Baby Doll and John...don't ask but she never gave us her name and that's what John called her. Anyway she was 79 and a pistol. They have been RV'ing forever and shared some tips with us, and welcomed us to the RV world. We've met the nicest people so far! After kayaking and meeting the neighbors we did a hike and then hit the road for Trinity.......or so we thought!
